St. Maria Goretti Primary School participates in the Eco-Schools Scotland
programme. Eco-Schools is an international initiative designed to encourage whole-school action for the environment. It is an environmental management tool, learning resource and recognised award scheme.

The whole school community is now working towards our second Green Flag status which symbolises excellence in the field of environmental activity.

It is with a sense of pride, ambition and great enthusiasm that we work towards this award. Members of the Eco Committee are determined to ensure that our school’s journey towards Green Flag status is one in which all members of the school and local community are involved in.

To achieve our Green Flag, we are required to work through a seven step process which includes the following elements:

* Eco-Committee

* Environmental Review

* Action Plan

* Eco-Code

* Involve Whole School and Wider Community

* Links to the Curriculum

* Monitor and Evaluate Progress

Please check back on our site regularly to stay informed of the latest eco-related happenings in our school.
