Pixelation Pixelation Pixelation

We had the best day out last week. We were given the massive privilege of participating in Glasgow Pixelation filming, a project run by DFIEFOE. Since 2018 is the year of the young people, DFIEFOE are choreographing and filming routines around some of Glasgow’s biggest landmarks. We had to shuffle around as slow as we could, it was harder than it looked! DFIEFOE will then speed the videos up and let the Pixelation magic take place! All of these videos will be compiled to make a short film which will be shown in the GFT and a number of places electronically at the end of Summer, how exciting!

Here are photos of us in action (of course Lola had to come too!):

Football Time!

Before the Easter Holidays, some of us got the opportunity to attend a football match at Hampden Park, it was so exciting! It was Scotland vs Costa Rica, and although the game ended as a 0-1 to Costa Rica, we all had a great time.

Here is one of our personal blog posts by Adam Zaman:

“On Friday the 23rd of March we went to a football match at Hampden Park, it was Scotland Vs Costa Rica. Scotland lost by one goal, but we bought chips and juice to cheer us up. It was cold! Miss Cohen, Mrs Harker and Tony went with us to help out and everybody enjoyed themselves. We went home quite late and everyone was knackered!”.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had the best time at our Easter Egg hunt in Maxwell Park! We found lots of treasure and eggs! What a fantastic way to spend Easter time.

Here are some of our own blog posts:

Today we went to Maxwell Park for an EASTER EGG HUNT!!! When we arrived at the park we played while Miss Cohen and Lisa hid the yummy treats. We had to find chocolate lollipops; if you found 2 or more you had to hide them for someone else to find. Also, finding a plastic egg could win you 3 dojo points and you could get as many as you want, YAY!!! It was so hard to find something but I got there in the end. For the people who never found anything, they got some of my eggs. P7 are so lucky we get an Easter Egg Hunt!

Today we went to Maxwell Park for an easter egg hunt!!! We walked all the way to the park. Once we arrived we went to the playground so that Miss Cohen and Lisa could get set up. After that we all ran about trying to find the chocolate lollipops and plastics eggs. If you found the plastic eggs you would get 3 dojos, and you could get as MANY AS YOU WANT! It took ages for me to find something but then I finally found some.  Miss Cohen kindly bought mini easter eggs for anyone who didn’t find anything. SO FUN!

Wednesday’s article homework

As our school focus for the week is ‘Scotland welcome refugees’, read the following two newspaper articles and summarise what they are about. Do you agree or disagree with the journalist?

Hi Primary 7!

For homework tonight, could you please pick a Social Enterprise and find out some information to share with us.

You can choose from either:

OR

South West Community Cycles

Pick one of these Social Enterprises and find out the following:

Social

  • What are its main objectives? (what is it trying to do?)
  • What group of society is it aimed at supporting? (the elderly, young people, criminal offenders, refugees and asylum seekers etc.)
  • How will this Social Enterprise benefit the community/city?

Enterprise

  • Is this Social Enterprise making a profit?
  • If yes, how are they using the money that they earn?

Creating showing sentences from telling sentences

Today, Mrs Querabi came to our class to assist us with our Writing. We discussed and practiced transforming telling sentences into showing sentences. We thought about sensory language we could use; what we might see, feel, hear, smell, taste etc…

Homework task for this evening; Can you do the same for the following telling sentences?

  1. It was Winter.
  2. They had arrived in Tokyo, Japan.
  3. Nathan was ecstatic.
  4. Maria was feeling poorly.
  5. Scott arrived at school late.

Challenge: Get your bike serviced this weekend!
