Storyteller Time!

Along with the pupils in P4, 5 and 6, we took part in a fantastic storytelling experience presented by Gauri from AWAZ on Thursday. We loved it! Gauri told us several multi lingual stories, one of which involved a man on a journey to make magic stone soup!

Arisha, Malikah and Rowan all found the experience interesting and entertaining while Kirtan said it made her feel calm and relaxed!

A very good way to spend our afternoon in St. Albert’s!

Primary 7 are buzzing…

Aisha and Areeba N got their 50 dojo points! For their special privilege, they chose to have a yummy stir fry with friends. Here is a photo of them tucking in to the delicious meal …

Areeba N couldn’t resist tucking in!

Another exciting event got the whole class buzzing this week… Miss Hunter’s (Our Class 1 Teacher) Dad is a Beekeeper and he was kind enough to come in and show us exactly how bees live and are kept! Here are a few photos of us buzzing about all the action!

Barrowland Ballet FUN!!

What an amazing week with Natasha and Jade from Barrowland Ballet. We learned a dance fusion choreography – mixing Spanish Tango and Urban street dance. We integrated our own poems about Migration; Mostafa spoke in Arabic, Maria M spoke in hungarian, Gurpreet read aloud in Italian and James composed a truly phenomenal Scots language piece all about Glasgow.

Our videos are on the school Twitter – but here’s some snaps to keep you going. If you want to practice or show your parents and family the routine at home, the song is;

D.J. O.G. Style: Return of the tres instrumental

And you thought you were off the hook…

Only kidding P7, these are FUN activities for you to try in the snow.

Mr. Stewart will be updating the school Twitter page with lots of great videos from the wonderful teachers at St Albert’s, giving you ideas on how to spend your day! I posted one about collecting natural flowers and making a beautiful Mother’s Day bouquet. Or, do as I did yesterday, and layer up (you’ve all had plenty of practice of doing this at Lockerbie) and hit the slopes. Queens Park’s pistes are AMAZING.

Here’s a snap of me and my friends yesterday. Can you spot Miss Bull, too?

Or do a spot of painting. My sister and I used some acrylics and stencils to make geometric prints…what do you reckon? Shall I contact the GOMA and ask if they want me to feature at their next exhibition?!

Have a lovely day, and stay safe and warm!

Miss Cohen 🙂

Row, row, row your boat!

Last Thursday, a group of P7s went along to Bellahouston Academy with Mrs Alexander and Mrs Brightman to take part in a Rowathon fundraiser. Chloe Marshall, a S6 pupil, was aiming to raise money for school funds. She’s a Sports Captain there. Here are our crew in action;

Well done Zafirah, Maria A, Furqan, Hafsah and Aisha! You all looked suitably exhausted when you returned to school ha!
