A very civilised lunch!

Yesterday, some of the girls in Primary 6/7 who had earned their 30 dojo points clubbed together to design a very sophisticated prize. They decided to make themselves lunch to eat in the classroom. What’s more, it was a very healthy selection: pasta with marinara (tomato) sauce and a fresh salad including peppers, lettuce, sweetcorn, cucumber and red onion.

The cooks even made enough for Mrs Brightman to join them so we all sat together and had a lovely meal with some intelligent conversation about whether dads can cook or not!

Music Compositions Released!

What an amazing term we have had with Mrs Patti’s Music Maker Workshops. The bands in P6/7 have composed, performed and recorded 5 original tracks since October. The CD was released today!

You can also listen to the tracks here. They all use the pentatonic scale (a scale of 5 notes) and combine rhythm, lyrics, melody and, most importantly, a pulse. See the photos below for some of the other skills we have learned as part of this process.

A HUGE THANK YOU from your prodigies in P6/7 Mrs Patti – we have loved it!

Our class art installation for the St. Albert’s exhibition on December 14th is in the planning stages. For homework, the class had to come up with ideas for how to create a booth to home our multi-media experience! Here are some of the ideas!

Poetry Continues!

Miss O’Hagan continues to teach us about the imagery of freedom. We areĀ personifying freedom – pretending that ‘freedom’ can be a character/person.

The class came up with some amazing ideas of what this character would be like! We can’t wait to see (and hear) the final poems they all write.

Health and Wellbeing

Miss McCue has been teaching Primary 6/7 about Substance Misuse as part of our Health and Wellbeing Curriculum.

This mind-map shows all the children’s ideas and understanding about the topic. They even related it to things they were ‘addicted’ to…some more innocent of course!

School Choir Fundraising Trip

Mrs Brightman has been preparing a school choir of 40 P4-7s for a fundraising trip to the St. Enoch Centre.

On Friday, we all went to sing for an hour and help to raise money for the Prince and Princess of Wales Trust. It was such fun!

Here are some videos of the choir in action!
