On Fridays this term, Luisa from The Debate League comes to our class and does debating skills with us.

We debate on subjects like:

• Should girls and boys only schools be banned
• Should kids under 11 be allowed technology

We’ve learned two words that are very important in debate: proposition and opposition. These are the two sides of the argument. We know we have to say ‘This house believes’ when we start making our points and that we can interrupt the speakers by shouting ‘Point of information’. They don’t have to listen to us though! They can say ‘DENIED!’ and keep talking.
