Poetry

The children have been working on poetry this term.  They read a story about Stickman and then had to imagine how Stickman was feeling as he was being chased by a dog. After they had the first part of the poem, they then had to imagine how he felt when he finally made it home. The 2 poems were a contrast of feelings.  Rahib performed his poem wonderfully.

The next poem the children worked on was Freedom. First they discussed what ‘freedom’ meant to them. There were many great answers including – going swimming, having friends and going to the park. Fraser and Adam performed their poems to the class with confidence.

Apple Tart recipe

Most of the children enjoyed the apple tart so much that they requested the recipe. Click on the link:

Apple and Vanilla Tart

This morning the children used the apples they picked during outdoor learning to make an apple tart.  They showed great hand washing skills before preparing the ingredients, cutting apples and finishing off the tart. It smells delicious, we are going to have a slice before lunch.

Mrs Dunnet is very proud of their great listening skills and ability to follow instructions.

Berry picking

On Wednesday Primary 3 went berry picking around the school grounds.  They found lots of blackberries and they are going to make blackberry jam.  They will use their ICT skills to search for a recipe, literacy skills to write a shopping list, numeracy skills to weigh the ingredients and they will be working together to cook the jam.

Risk Assessment and activities

P3 carried out a risk assessment on the Veg/Herb Plot area before they carried out their tasks. They identified some things which could be dangerous and gave solutions to stay safe around them.
