Primary one’s first day

Good afternoon!

Primary one children settled in well yesterday. They were all excited to meet new friends & old and play with our new toys.

Our teachers Miss Ross, Miss Fagan and Miss Duncan were very happy but pleased to see 3 o’ clock!

We would like to invite you into school on Friday 20th August from 9am. We will meet in the hall for an information session and then you will be able to visit your child/children in their learning environment for a short time.

I know that the office has been busy with calls so here are a few of your questions answered. I will be available at the door (except Mondays) to answer questions and I am available for longer chats by appointment. So please feel free to approach me.

Queries

  • The infant playground is supervised from 8.50am so feel free to leave your child from that time. Breakfast club is open from 8.15am.
  • Please label all jackets, cardigans, bags and lunch boxes. We have separate storage areas for each class but things get lost in transitions.
  • All ordered cardigans/jumpers will be ready by the end of the month, they will be delivered to the school for collection.
  • All children are supervised in the lunch hall and teachers stay with P1 to ensure they eat their lunch. We will let you know at 3pm if you’re child didn’t eat.
  • Please only send one healthy snack to school and a labelled water bottle.
  • Physical education will be on Tuesday & Friday afternoons. Please send your child to school with a polo shirt on and soft shoes in their bag. (These can be labelled and left in class).
  • Class blogs will be available from next week. You will be able to view photographs and keep updated on your child’s learning.

If you have any other questions then please post here as this is an open forum and therefore help other parents too!

I hope to meet some of you on Friday. Let me know if you would like another session next Friday if you can’t make this one please as that can be arranged.

Remember we are here for you and your child so don’t hesitate to ask questions, seek support or just come for a chat!

Primary 1 Transition Information

P1-session-June-2nd

Good Morning!

Apologies that we were unable to hold our transition days for our new children & families. However I hope that by now most of your children have been able to visit our grounds either with their nursery or with their families. Please phone the office to arrange an appointment if your child had not had an outdoor visit.

Thank you to all who attended our information zoom meeting last week. I have attached the information PPT for you to view. We hope to do another zoom call next week. Also we will send you a date when you will be able to purchase some of our uniform from school.

I have introduced you to some of our staff on our PPT however our Primary 1 teachers are not confirmed as yet. I will let you know ASAP and I’m hoping we can organise a session for your children to meet their teacher.

Primary 1 will have 3 teachers and 2 Support for Learning Workers. The class will be split into 3 groups and each group will stay with their own teacher. Children will rotate around 3 different learning areas to offer a wider variety of experiences and activities. This is new and exciting for us and you will see this happening in August. I’m sure your children will thoroughly enjoy their experiences.

Any other questions, please give me a phone.

Uniforms will be available to order on Thursday 17th June from 10am – 11am at the school office.  You can also pick up your child’s summer pack then.

Thank you
