Information for Primary 6 parents

Dear Parents/Carers

God’s Loving Plan lessons will continue in Primary 6 this term. These lessons will discuss the development and changes in the children’s growing bodies both physically and emotionally. Following discussion with parents it was agreed that boys and girls will be taught separately for these lessons. Also they will only learn about their own developmental stage. – Boys will learn about boys. Girls will learn about girls. Further lessons will be completed in Primary 7. Thank you for your continued support.

Parent volunteers required

Good Morning!

To continue the development of family learning and attainment in our school I am looking for parent volunteers to be involved in a number of initiatives as follows. Volunteering is an excellent way to become more involved in the school and increase your own skills and confidence. Please see myself or contact the office for more information. All parents are welcome to join these events.

Reading Challenge

To promote and raise attainment in reading Miss O’ Hagan would like to invite parents to read with children during class time. This would involve 1 -2 hours of your time each week. Full training is provided. Please give your name to the office. First meeting is on Thursday 28th February at 2pm.

School Reports

To promote effective communication between teachers and parents we require to change our school reports. It is vital that parents are involved in this process therefore I am asking for parents to be bring their suggestions to a group discussion with me on Wednesday 27th February at 2pm. Please give your name to the office.

Home Learning

To promote effective home learning which is consistent and progressive in all stages I require suggestions and feedback from parents. I will hold a group meeting on Friday 1st March at 9am to discuss this further. Please give your name to the office.

Families Connect P1

Presentation to parents for information coffee morning short

Please click on the link above to view our presentation and find out more information about Families Connect.

This is an exciting opportunity for children and parents. Our Families Connect course runs for 8 weeks and gives your children a chance to become more engaged in learning. Our course will help to improve confidence and social and emotional health and wellbeing in children, as well as develop literacy and numeracy skills in fun, imaginative  contexts.

The course has also helped parents to develop their own confidence and form new friendships.

Parents who have been on our course before enjoyed it so much that they are coming back to us again with other children.

Please let us know ASAP if you wish to join us. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis.
