Digital Learning

To support our digital learning we use Showbie (The Paperless Classroom) as our main ‘application‘. All the children of Shawlands Primary School have their own unique individual account that is linked to their class and their class teacher. By using this application the class teacher has the ability to assign, mark and offer feedback on the children’s work when submitted. Children can access Showbie either by way of an iOS device or through a web browser such as Google Chrome.

Further information on Showbie for parents can be found at the bottom of the page here.

Glasgow City Parents Groups Digital Resource site for parents, carers and guardians.

These resources were created by Glasgow school’s Digital Leaders of Learning to help families gain a better understanding of the digital learning apps that are used by Glasgow schools.

The handy ‘how to’ guides are designed to show you how each app works and how to use it to aid your child’s learning, they can be located here.

In addition to Showbie all our children also have access to SumDog. This application will allow all our children to continue their learning by accessing activities related to mathematics, literacy and spelling. The work will be set by the class teacher and children can work their way through the scheme of work.

The school code for SumDog is: shawlands-primary-school

We also have Code.org logins for all the children at Shawlands Primary School. Code.org provides simple coding courses which the children can complete at their own pace. There is a range of coding courses that are available to the children. There are many benefits to learning coding, improved problem solving skills, the ability to think logically along with many others.
