Happy Friday everyone!
We have had a great start to the term and have been working hard.
Our numeracy focus has been developing our understanding of place value, working with numbers up to 100,000 and exploring the value of each digit. We have also been working on subtraction with decomposition in mental maths.
In Literacy, we have been writing explanation texts, investigating how and why volcanic eruptions happen and learning about the fascinating history of child chimney sweeps from the Victorian Era.
Our topic work has taken us back to Victorian Britain, where we have been exploring what life was like during the Victorian era and learning about the experiences of children at the time, the industrial revolution and Victorian inventions.
We have even had a visit to the STEM Room where we were working in different stations creating things that float, things with wheels and using Spheros.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Smith
