Hello everyone,
We have had a busy week after the October holiday! In Literacy, we learnt the sounds of ea and ue. We learnt our spelling and common words. We started our work on descriptive writing, this week we wrote about a spooky haunted house since our IDL topic is currently Spooky Season. We especially used lots of adjectives!
In Numeracy, we continued our work on the 2 and 5 times tables. We used the commutative law to realise we know more of other times tables than we thought. We practised using arrays, groupings and repeated addition.
We have been loving doing science experiments this week for IDL. We made bubbling pumpkins using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. We also learnt about the term soluble and insoluble, by testing which substances dissolve in water. We have great scientists in P3b!
The children enjoyed meeting Ms Ferguson (some children had her as their teacher in P1), who will now be teaching the class on Tuesdays.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Thomson
