The PEPASS Team worked alongside Glasgow 2026 and the Glasgow CREATE team, who produced a citywide singing video montage to this year’s song, “Alive” by Skipinnish—a joyful and uplifting anthem celebrating resilience, joy and connection. Permission for the project was kindly granted by songwriter Angus MacPhail, who also provided a Gaelic translation of the chorus (Sèist).
As our Determined to Dance coaches were working in schools during the April–June block of the programme, it provided a fantastic opportunity to involve local schools in a creative dance project linked to the wider Glasgow 2026 celebrations.
Each participating school was assigned a section of the song, and the dance coach worked with pupils to choreograph and create a fun and exciting dance sequence.
Our editor, Hayleigh, then brought all the performances together to produce a special dance montage celebrating schools from across the city.
Thank you very to all who supported this project and for helping us celebrate creativity, collaboration and dance across Glasgow schools. The enthusiasm, commitment and talent shown by pupils and staff helped make the project a great success.
