Mount Florida Out of School Project

During term time we offer an After School Service (3.00pm-6.00pm) based in Mount Florida Primary School.

During school holiday times – with the exception of the Christmas/New Year period – we provide all day childcare from 7.45am-6.00pm.  (This is subject to demand).

We currently do not run on Bank Holidays or on Teachers’ Inservice days but can arrange provision with partner organisations.

Since 2011 we have been offering a ‘pick up service’ from Battlefield Primary After School Care during term time.

Staff members are vetted under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG Scheme) and are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.

The Manager/Lead Practitioner is required to hold either a BA in Childcare/PDA Childcare Practice or other SSSC approved degree – with additional management credits – and all childcare staff must hold or obtain relevant qualifications in childcare and undertake post registration training and learning (PRTL) throughout their employment.

The Service is registered with the Care Inspectorate (Social Care Social Work Improvement in Scotland) and currently we hold a Grade 5 award.  We also have a Level 3 Quality Assurance Award with Aiming High Scotland.

As members of the Glasgow Childcare Partnership Forum (South East Area) and the Scottish Out of School Care Network (SOSCN), we are able to keep up to date with current and new legislation/requirements for the childcare sector.
