A group of our reward trip pupils enjoyed a fantastic day out at Topgolf this week as a recognition of their hard work, positive attitude, and commitment throughout the year. Students had great fun taking part in the golf games, showing plenty of enthusiasm and friendly competition. They also enjoyed a meal together, which was a highlight of the day. The trip was a great success, and it was wonderful to see the pupils representing the school so positively while celebrating their achievements.
Greater Glasgow and Clyde Schools Ski Championships 2026
We are delighted to share that six pupils represented the school at the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Schools Ski Championships 2026 held at Glasgow Ski & Snowboard Centre. This marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time the school has entered a ski racing team—an exciting moment in our sporting history.
Our team of Yi Cheng He (Arran), Aniela Smith (Mull), Elodie Smith (Lewis), Reece O’Leary (Arran), Fergus Munro (Lewis) and Nevan Strain-Durnion (Arran) competed against 16 schools from across the region. Many of the other schools had experienced ski racers, while several of our pupils were taking part in ski racing for the very first time.
Despite this, the team showed excellent enthusiasm, determination and team spirit throughout the event. Their efforts contributed to a strong overall performance, with the school finishing 6th place in the final standings.
Beyond the results, the pupils were praised for their positive attitude and the enthusiastic support they gave each other and other competitors throughout the evening.
We are extremely proud of how they represented the school in this inaugural event.

Science Centre and “All Energy” Conference
New S4 Physics and Chemistry pupils went on a trip to the Science Centre and “All Energy” Conference at the SEC. We watched a fascinating IMAX film about global warming and the need for renewable energy. We then had a tour round the Science Centre before heading over the river to the SEC to explore the stalls of renewable energy companies and got to speak to lots of people in these industries to find out about the innovations happening around the UK to help tackle the problem.

Day Four in Bardonecchia – Confidence on the Slopes and Fun Off Them!
Day four of our ski adventure, and it’s been incredible to watch the progress our young people have made. All of our pupils have now mastered the chair lift, and they’re confidently stopping and turning with ease—a fantastic achievement in just a few days!
Two of our groups have become such accomplished skiers that they’re now exploring the mountain, tackling a combination of blue and red runs with enthusiasm and skill. It’s amazing to see their confidence grow as they navigate the slopes.
Off the slopes, the fun hasn’t stopped! Our après-ski activities have been a big hit, with highlights including a lively games night, a tour of the picturesque town, and, of course, a delicious pizza night. The camaraderie and energy from everyone have made this trip even more special.
What’s perhaps most remarkable is that many of our pupils had never skied before this week. To see them skiing so confidently and enjoying every moment is truly inspiring—they should all be incredibly proud of themselves.
Tomorrow is our final day on the slopes, and we’re hoping to make it one to remember. Let’s finish strong—here’s to an unforgettable last day!
Day Two on the Slopes – Progress and Excitement in Bardonecchia
Day two of skiing has been nothing short of amazing as we watch the young people of King’s Park take on the slopes of Bardonecchia, Italy. The progress they’ve made in such a short time is truly impressive!
Today, three of our ski groups confidently rode the chair lift to explore new terrain, while one group took on their first red run—a fantastic achievement and a clear sign of their growing skills and confidence.
We couldn’t be prouder of our pupils and the effort they’re putting in. Their enthusiasm and determination are inspiring, and we can’t wait to see how much more they will accomplish as the week continues.
