A big thank you to Uptree for coming into our school to speak with some of our S3 pupils about an exciting work experience opportunity with JP Morgan.

It was a fantastic session that gave our young people valuable insight into the world of finance and future career pathways. We really appreciate your time and support in helping inspire the next generation!

Armstrong Watson Accountancy & Tax AAT & ATT Apprenticeship Opportunities

There is now just one week left to apply (closing date Sunday 29 March) to Armstrong Watsons early career opportunities.

These opportunities offer an excellent route for students looking to begin a career in finance, tax, or accountancy while gaining hands-on experience and fully funded professional qualifications. Upon successful completion of the AAT or ATT qualifications there is the opportunity to internally apply to work towards Chartered Level 7 qualifications (equivalent to a Master’s degree).

In2STEM S5/6 STEM Summer Programme
The 2026 programme takes place between 20 July – 21 August and consists of work experience placements, online workshops, competitions and events.

  • The placements take place over 1 or 2 weeks during the programme period at a volunteer host’s STEM place of work.
  • Students are matched to a placement based on their subject interest, availability and location.

The Engineering Development Trust – Victual Summer Into University programme

Here at The Engineering Development Trust we are excited to let you know that APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN for our hugely popular 2026 Summer Virtual into University course.

This unique course is for pupils in S5-S6 and can be completed flexibly over the summer (approx. 30 hours of study).

The course will allow students to explore STEM studies at TOP UNIVERSITIES, including degree apprenticeships, and the career opportunities that that these subjects lead to.  It will provide access to information on student life, STEM projects and activities set up leading UK universities and global STEM companies, first year undergraduate lectures, live interactive sessions with academic, admission tutors, employers, and current students.

Upon completion students will gain a Silver Industrial Cadets Award Inspired by its Patron, His Majesty, King Charles III, Industrial Cadets is a nationally recognised award which students can use as evidence of their experience and to support future applications and careers journeys.

Paid Summer Finance/accountancy programme with EY -S5/6

This programme is for young people interested in a career at EY in business/accountancy/finance etc. The programme will help young people take their first steps into a career in accounting, consulting, or other professional services and is appropriate for those who wish to apply for a high level / degree apprenticeship at the end of school or college. The 8 day programme will run from Monday 8th June 2026 – Wednesday 17thJune 2026. There are up to 30 places available on this programme and applications are open now.

The programme provides:

  • 5 days employability skills training and insights into the sector from those who work in it and who have come into the sector via different pathways (including the apprenticeship scheme) – 8-12 June 2026
  • 3 days work experience/business academy event at EY working directly with the teams across the various service lines at EY –  15-17 June 2026
  • Paid for all 8 days – total of £384 (approx.)
  • Additional £80 bursary to cover the cost of lunches and any travel over and above that covered by their young Scot card (if travel costs are higher than amount provided minus lunch costs then young person can apply for enhanced bursary to cover additional travel costs)
  • 6 months of group mentoring after the programme ends

Who can take part?

  • Applicants must be in S5/S6 aged 16-17 years old
  • Must be interested in the business/finance/accountancy sectors and be sitting a combination of 5 Highers that includes Maths and English
  • Must eligible for free school meals or education maintenance allowance in recent years

🚀 Huge thanks to the Royal Air Force and The Smallpeice Trust for delivering the Blast Off to RIAT STEM Day.
Our S3 physicists took part in hands-on challenges, designing and testing prototypes while exploring forces, drag and space science linked to real-world STEM careers. 🌟✈️

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Food & Drink Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship

Start date: September 2026.

Application criteria:

  • National 5 qualifications at grade C or above (Scotland) in English and Maths.
  • Right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for three years.
  • An interest in manufacturing and a desire to become an accomplished engineer

Application deadline: 28 November 2025.

About the Food & Drink Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship: 

This is a 4-year apprenticeship with a starting salary of £26,425.

In this programme studenst will be immersed in engineering operations, working closely with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners’ site teams whilst studying. No previous technical experience is necessary.

They will:

  • Spend the first five months on a full-time residential experience with other engineering apprentices at the Northwest Training Council in Liverpool, with accommodation fully funded by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners. After this residential phase, they will return to the manufacturing site to continue the on-the-job learning.
  • Achieve a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Food & Drink Maintenance Engineering.
  • Receive on-the-job coaching and learning opportunities, all while earning an academic qualification.
