Industrials Cadets Bronze Challenge 2025

A group of S2 pupils took part and completed the Industrials Cadets Bronze Challenge 2025. The pupils undertook the healthy minds challenge and created an app called “u ok?” The pupils worked over 3 month period to not only create a functional app but also a report and presentation which they delivered at the city chambers. The pupils represented the school with excellent behaviour and really thrived speaking with other pupils and invited guests.

Science Centre and “All Energy” Conference

New S4 Physics and Chemistry pupils went on a trip to the Science Centre and “All Energy” Conference at the SEC. We watched a fascinating IMAX film about global warming and the need for renewable energy. We then had a tour round the Science Centre before heading over the river to the SEC to explore the stalls of renewable energy companies and got to speak to lots of people in these industries to find out about the innovations happening around the UK to help tackle the problem.

 

STEM in Action: Students Gain Insight at Leidos Headquarters

Students participating in the 2024-25 Leidos Project had the exciting opportunity to visit the Leidos headquarters in Glasgow . They were warmly welcomed by their mentors and given an inside look at a day in the life of a Leidos employee.

Throughout the visit, students explored various career pathways, job roles, and project development while enjoying hot chocolate and friendly games of pool. The experience left them inspired and motivated to pursue a future in STEM, equipped with a clearer vision of how to achieve their goals.
