P7 Transition Event
Please see the attached letter from Bellahouston Academy. Primary 7 children and parents have been invited to their first transition meeting on Wednesday evening on Microsoft Teams.
Children will have a chance to try out Microsoft Teams with Mrs Chalmers on Monday morning to check they are able to access. Acess will be through their Glow launchpad where the Teams tile is found. All P7 children should have an invite in their Glow emails to Monday morning’s trial meeting at 10am.

Home Learning Pack- collection info
Our next set of Home Learning Packs are due to be collected tomorrow, Monday 25th January. This Home Learning Pack will cover from Monday 25th January until Friday 12th February due to the February Holidays (Fri 5th, Mon 8th and Tues 9th and INSET day on Wed 10th on which days children will not be provided with learning)
Learning Packs can be collected during whichever collection slot suits, the collections slots are as follows,
915-1015AM
11AM-12PM
130-230PM
When collecting packs please remember to physically distance from others, wear a mask and sanitise your hands. Packs will be collected from the Infant Shed.

Free School Meal Payments
Please see updated information from Maureen McKenna which was shared on our Twitter during the week. Families who are currently in receipt of FSM and Clothing Grant will be eligible for this payment. This will come directly from Glasgow City Council and be paid into bank accounts.
Please note this does not apply to all P1-P4 who get a free school meal but only those who have claimed for and been processed to receive the FSM and Clothing Grant.
If you received the winter payment of £120 you will receive the new payment. These payments are only available by bank transfer, so if you had a cheque previously please follow the link to add your bank account details to ensure you receive your payment.
The first payment will be paid after 22nd Jan, then fortnightly moving forwards.

We have created some guidance to support you while your child is learning at home. Please do what you can, when you can and not add undue pressure to family relationships. If we can support you in any way please get in touch.

Home Learning Packs
All home learning packs will be available to collect from the infant shed tomorrow.
Families with children across stages can collect packs during whichever time slot suits. If you require someone to pick up a pack for you this is also fine.
When collecting packs please ensure you,
- maintain a 2m physical distance from others
- wear a mask
- use hand sanitiser (provided if required) before entering the shed
- bring a pen/pencil to tick pack is collected
Packs can be collected as follows,
- P1- P3 10am -12pm
- P4- P7 1pm -3pm
Class Teachers will be giving out packs at the following times, although you can come along at any time within the 2 hour time slot.
P1 and P1/2 10am -11am,
P2/3 and P3 11am-12pm
P4 and P5 1pm-2pm
P6 and P7 2pm -3pm
Nursery packs will be available to collect next week and further information will follow.

Christmas Hamper
We may not be able to have our usual Christmas celebrations and events, but we still have our Christmas Hampers to raffle!
We are selling raffle tickets for our Christmas hampers, which contain a selection of food and items, including a £50 Farmfoods gift card, for a perfect Christmas celebration
Tickets can be purchased from the school for £1per strip. If you wish to be in with a chance of winning, please complete the slip below, and send it in with the exact money. We are unable to give change.
The draw will take place on Friday the 18th of December.
Winners will be contacted by phone on this date to come and collect their hamper.

Christmas Celebrations
This week we will be celebrating Christmas with class parties.
Each class will have their party as below and children can come dressed for Christmas in party wear or whatever they choose.
Wednesday 16th– Primary 3, Primary 6
Thursday 17th– Primary 1, Primary 1/2
Friday 18th– Primary 5 and Primary 7
Monday 21st– Primary 4, Primary 2/3
Supertreaters will find out on Wednesday afternoon they have been chosen. Children who are selected as Supertreaters will celebrate on Thursday PM with an outdoor disco in the shed. Again children can wear something festive if they choose.
Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 children will be going to the Park for a Winter Wonderland themed adventure on Wednesday 16th in the morning. Children will return to school in time for lunch.
On Friday 18th we are having class movie and PJ day. Please come to school ready to relax and enjoy a Christmas Movie in class.

Holiday Hunger Programme
The Scottish Government has launched a Holiday Hunger Programme where eligible families will receive a food payment to support them during the upcoming school holidays including Christmas 2020, February Mid Term & Easter 2021.
Please note only children who are eligible and have applied for and been awarded Free School Meals will be entitled to this payment.
Payment will be made in December 2020 for all three holidays.
All P1-P4 children currently can receive a FSM, however this will not mean you will receive a payment. If you are eligible we recommend you to complete the application as soon as possible as all payments will be made by bank transfer. Please follow the link below to complete an online application.
You are eligible to free school meals if you receive any of the following-
- Income Support or Jobseekers Allowance – please enclose a copy of your award letter dated within the past 3 months.
- Both Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit with a household income of £7330 or less – please enclose a copy of your recent award letter showing your household income and detailing your children’s names.
- Universal Credit with a monthly earned income of not more than £610- please supply a copy of your most recent statement or screen print showing your ‘pay for the period’.
- Child Tax Credit only with an annual income of less than £16,105 – please provide a copy of your 2020/2021 child tax credit award letter detailing your child(ren)’s names and your annual income.
- Income related Employment and Support Allowance – please provide a copy of your award letter dated within the past 3 months.
- Asylum Seekers – please close a copy of your ARC Card or BAIL201 Letter or Serco Occupancy Agreement
This should be done as a matter of urgency as all new applications must be submitted no later than 7th of December 2020. Applications received after this date will not be eligible for payment.
