World War II evacuee green screen and book creator

Primary 7A discussed how best to use their green screen and the iPad. They reenacted the evacuees leaving their homes, their train journey, the billeting process and their new life on a farm. These images were then imported into Book Creator on the iPad which resulted in a comic strip of events. Here are some pictures which show the journey the children went on with their learning.

“School uniforms should be required”. Discuss.

Inspired by the P7 children who came third place in the Debating Competition last week (🎉👏🏼), P5a learned the meaning of a “debate” and began to form arguments of their own.

Today’s statement for discussion was:

‘School uniforms should be required.’

The children formed their own opinion and joined FOR and AGAINST sides. They worked with their peers to come up with reasons to back up their opinion and present them to the opposing group.

The Digestive System. 🍕🥘🍰🥪🍳

“What did you learn at school today?”

…. “We learned to make poo!”

This afternoon, we became scientists. The children learned about the digestive system process and after eating their lunch, were completely fascinated at what was happening in their bodies as we spoke!

The whole class engaged in an experiment to discover each stage of the digestive system process. I will say no more… the pictures say it all!

Primary 7A Earth’s Layers

Today Primary 7A made a visual representation of the layers within the Earth. We used a ping pong ball and layers of play-dough. We rolled each layer around the ball and then cut out a chunk to see the result. Great work!!
