Pre Entrant Induction Days

We are delighted that you will be joining us at Hillington Primary School in August 2019.

Over the next few months the boys and girls will be visited by one of our teachers in their nursery.

We would also like to invite all parents/carers to our pre-entrant induction days.

Induction Day 1 – Tuesday 21^st May 2019 9.15am-10.15am
Induction Day 2 – Monday 24^th June 2019 1.20pm-2.30pm

During the induction days the boys and girls will get a chance to meet our primary one teachers and some of the boys and girls who will be joining you in August.

Parents/Carers will attend two workshops over the two induction days to find out more about the curriculum and other important information about primary one.

Parents/Carers – Please note parent/carer workshops during the induction days are for adults only. Unfortunately, there will be no staff available to supervise any other siblings. We would therefore be grateful if you could make alternative arrangements for them.

We look forward to meeting you at our induction days.

Primary 6a became travel agents this week in Maths. Children were given a budget and had to find their customers their ideal holiday. We also had the opportunity to attend a Judo taster session, which we all enjoyed.

We researched some facts about Oor Wullie for homework this week. We made a list of some of the facts we gathered. Oor Wullie will be teaching P2a about life in Scotland in the 1950s for their topic this term.

P3b have made beautiful winter pictures based on the book Snowmen at Night.

We learned how to add shading and perspective to our drawings and successfully created some interesting effects.

Learning about money in 3b.

P3b have worked hard learning about money. We have used coins up to £2 to carry out addition and subtraction calculations and set up shop role play lessons to help us understand how to use money. We have been able to use different coins to make up different amounts and calculate change.
