STEM Lego Challenge in P3a

Can you build a bridge over the river which will stand up and hold the weight of a Red Nose Day character? That was our challenge in P3a this afternoon and we all did fantastically well! This was a great test of our problem solving skills as some of our first designs did not stand up and we had to look at what didn’t work and try something else. We can’t wait to see what else STEM fortnight has in store for us!

Balloon Cars: STEM

P7b worked in collaborative groups to create vehicles that were powered by air. We then had a race to see whose car went the farthest after creating and testing the vehicles. Our groups showed initiative, resilience, problem solving skills, leadership roles, creativity and cooperation to name a few skills.

French in P7b

P7b enjoyed making sentences using fortune tellers. They have learned the verb ‘to be’ in French, in all its forms, and can use their knowledge of house room names to make full sentences. Nous sommes très bien!!

Exploring journeys 3b

As part of British Science Week the theme this year is exploring journeys. In 3b we investigated the journeys taken by different foods. We discovered lots of our foods came from China, France, Germany, India, Morocco and Canada.  We talked about what technologies were involved in bringing all these products to Scotland.
