Support in difficult times for unpaid carers and employers of Personal Assistants.
Many things have changed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and people’s wellbeing is now more important than ever. In response, Scotland’s National Wellbeing Hub www.promis.scot has been set up for everyone who has a responsibility to provide support to others, including unpaid carers. The Hub offers advice and support to help people adapt and cope with the day-to-day challenges being experienced such as isolation, anxiety, fatigue, poor sleep. Within the Hub there are lots of information, resources and activities to promote positive wellbeing and provide practical advice and tips on how to look after yourself. There is a designated page of information for unpaid carers to find help and support. There is also information for people who employ personal assistants, with links to organisations who can provide advice and guidance regarding self-directed support.
A chance to learn more
If you are an unpaid carer you are invited to attend a web session to learn more about the Hub and a programme called Feeling Good, which focusses on building personal resilience to cope with stress, anxiety, low mood. The sessions will be held online on Tuesday 24 November (at 4 pm) and Wednesday 25 November (at 7 pm). They will be run by Dr Alastair Dobbin and Sheila Ross who developed the programme. If you would like to attend one of these sessions please click the relevant links below:

Comments Off on Primary 7 iPad Deplyment – iPad Charter
The Connected Learning iPad scheme will provide every Primary 7 pupil at Hillington Primary with an iPad and a range of e-learning tools and resources to assist and enhance their learning at school and at home. All parties involved (pupils, parents/carers and the school) must agree with all of the terms and conditions outlined is our Home-School Agreement. By now parents/carers should have completed this agreement. As soon as this is compelled iPads will be sent home with our Primary 7 pupils.
We have worked closely with Primary 7’s and our Digital Explorers to create an iPad Charter for our school which will ensure that our iPads are fully utilised, cared for and looked after.

Comments Off on Letter from Rosshall for Primary 7 Parents/Carers – Primary 7 Transition Information
Dear Parent / Carer of Primary 7 Child
We look forward to welcoming your child to Rosshall Academy in August 2021. As you may be aware we normally hold an annual Open Evening event at Rosshall Academy where you can visit the school and all the subject areas in their departments, with your child who will be starting S1 with us in the following session. However, as this has not been possible this year, we have created a video that gives you this information. We hope that this will compensate for not having the physical experience – we are delighted with the positivity and enthusiasm with which this video was created, to welcome you to all the departments in our school. Please see letter attached below to view this video. On the second, third and fourth pages of the letter attached in the link below, you will see links to each section of the video so that you can choose which ones you would like to look at again at any other time. We hope that this will be useful for you and our child.
You can also follow our Transitions Page on Twitter: @P7RosshallAcad
Furthermore, there will be an online meeting to discuss questions and answers, on:
Tuesday 10th November from 6.00pm – 6.45pm
More details regarding this meeting will be made available next week.Meantime, I wish you a lovely weekend and I look forward to working with you and your child over the coming session.
