P1a Literacy Task – Wednesday 13th January

Wednesday 13th January 2021

11.10am-12.10pm – Literacy Task

During our Literacy Live lesson we will revise some single sounds. The 4 sounds we are focusing on for the literacy task are:

c                           d                               m                          r

Activity 1

Ask an adult to help you split a page in your jotter into 4 boxes like the example below. Draw a picture for each letter in a different box. Ask an adult to help you spell the word and write it in the rectangle below your picture. On a different page in your jotter you can try and write a simple sentence using one or more of your words.

Activity 2

Go on a treasure hunt around your house to find as many objects as you can for each sound.

P1a Numeracy Task – Wednesday 13th January

Wednesday 13th January 2021

9.30-10.15am – Numeracy Task

For this activity you will need your number line with numbers 0-20.

Activity 1 – Revising numbers 0-15 using a number line

  • Count forwards and backwards using the number line and start at different numbers.
  • Ask an adult to cover up some of the numbers on the number line. What numbers are missing?
  • Make your own number line using items around your house. For example: 1 cushion, 2 pens, 3 toys etc. If you are unable to collect different items, you can draw a number line with pictures to represent the objects.

Activity 2 – Play Bingo with a family member

  • Write down any six numbers between 0-15. Ask an adult to say a number and if you have that number written down in your jotter then cross it out. When all your numbers are crossed out you shout bingo!

Spanish With Mrs Dickinson – 1pm Wednesday 13th January 2021

Hola (Hello)
Spanish has always been our second modern language at Hillington Primary. Every year we host a Spanish day where we learn a little bit about the Spanish language and culture. This year we are very lucky to have a Spanish speaking teacher in our school and over the next few week Mrs Dickinson is going to be teaching you some of the language basics. Click on the link below to view this weeks lesson. This link can be used by all pupils in all classes. Feel free to stop, pause and/or repeat the video at any time.
Enjoy!
