Literacy Live Lesson
Today’s focus will be on ‘g’ as in gentle.
Can you come up with some of your own dictation sentences with some of our ‘g’ words in them?

Literacy
Today’s literacy focus will be on reading. We are going to do a task that you are familiar with – a beginning, middle and end. You will be completing this task after watching a story that you may have heard before – Jack and the Beanstalk.
Green and Blue group
To get started you should open and watch the PowerPoint presentation for your reading group (Green or Blue). This presentation will explain to you what our focus for learning is today. It will also tell you where you can find the video for the story as well as what your task is afterwards. Remember to always write in sentences and with your best handwriting.

Good morning primary 3! We will start off our maths session with some mental maths. You can choose from the following options:
Topmarks – Hit the Button (link below). You can choose the area of maths that you want to focus on from the options in the game.

OR
Select a target number. You should then see how many addition and subtraction sums you can think of that have the target number as their answer. For example: target – 65, 22 + 43 = 65 and 100 – 35 = 65. Try and challenge yourself with the number you choose as your target.
Once you have completed some mental maths it will be time to look at something new – Data Handling.

I have attached a worksheet at the bottom of this post called ve wordlist to give you a chance to practise spelling some more of the words containing todays phoneme ‘ve’.
Your next Literacy task this morning is to focus on summarising the key points from a story. Please listen to the PowerPoint Jack and the Beanstalk BME. In the Power Point you will find more information about your Beginning, Middle and End summarising activity for today which can be completed in your jotter.
Purple Group (Olivia H) – I have attached another worksheet on creating three letter words (CVC) in your jotter – keep practising your blending.

Numeracy (all groups)
To start this morning can you practice writing out the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables. To challenge yourself you could set a timer and see how long it takes, every day you can see if you can get faster.
For the next two days for Maths we are going to be looking at Data Handling. First watch the attached Power Point called Data Handling Intro. The video you will need is called making a tally chart. There is a worksheet attached for you to complete in your jotter (Workbook p35).
I have set a Sumdog challenge for you to complete too.
OH = Please can you complete the worksheet called Animals Block Chart. I have set a Sumdog challenge for you to complete too.
