P1a have been reading the 3 Billy goats gruff as part of their topic for term 1. The children enjoyed re-telling the story using the characters from the story. They also made story maps and story boards to sequence the story in the correct order.

P1a learned about bridges and looked at different bridges that we have in Glasgow and around the world. The children had a go at creating their own bridges using Lego, wooden blocks and logs.

The children created a Billy goats collage. Here is some of their fantastic work!

Primary 1a have been learning the sound ‘P’ this week. They have been busy practising the formation of the sound and tricky words. They have been using toy cars, loose parts materials, playdoh and Pom poms to form the sounds and words.

P1 have been learning words and objects for the sounds they have learned and have been sorting pictures and to the correct sound. They also worked hard at listening to a word and using their magnetic board to find the correct starting sound.

P1a have been learning about their rights and responsibilities. They learned that they have the right to be safe, to be healthy, to be heard, to learn and to play. P1a discussed the importance of respecting each other’s rights and created a class charter to display in the class. The children each created their own unique hand print to display on the charter.
