Dear Schools, Parents & Carers
Thank you so much for supporting your children to grow oak tree seedlings for our project. I hope you have enjoyed watching your wee seedlings grow from a tiny acorn. We have loved seeing all your pictures that you have posted on our Twitter and Facebook page. We are also looking after the seedlings for those schools who were not able to participate and will post pictures to the schools soon.
Our original plan to collect the seedlings before the summer holidays in order to plant at various sites will no longer be possible due to COVID-19. However, we are working hard to overcome the challenges that the lockdown has had upon the project. Please help us by caring for your seedlings for longer until we are in a position to collect them and watch our seedling care video in the resources section of our website :

We are working in partnership with the Glasgow Science Centre, Glasgow City Council and Eadha Enterprise to find great sites for your precious seedlings. Beautiful green spaces where you can watch your seedlings grow into strong oak trees. Of course some children may prefer to keep their own sapling after having cared for it for so long and we can offer guidance on this. Perhaps as a school you have space and wish to plant some of yours on school grounds (or in large containers) – we’d love to hear from you too if this is the case.
Please let us know how many seedlings you have managed to grow.
We are also working with world famous artists, singers and authors to develop new and exciting home learning resources for children.
Please stay updated and support us by following us on social media and check our YouTube channel which will be launched this month.
Thank you for all your support,
The Lost Woods Project Team.
