Yesterday P2a visited Kelvingrove park to go on a mini-beast safari. Thank you very much to our leader Lucy Cunningham from the RSPB for a wonderful time!
First we did some ‘Worm Charming’ which involved stamping our feet on the grass to encourage the worms to come to the surface. We learned that the worms think that it is raining and come up to the surface to stay moist. We even got to hold some !
Next we searched for different types of mini-beasts in their habitats.
We used a magnifying glass to take a closer look at the mini-beasts and set them free back into their homes.
Lastly, we did some ‘Pond Dipping’ and we learned that some mini-beasts like to live in the water too. We took a closer look with our magnifying glass again.
