We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded our 4th Eco Flag. Thank you to our Pupil Eco Committee, Miss Davidson (Depute Head & Learning for Sustainability Coordinator) and all of the pupils and staff at Hillington Primary for making this possible. We received some amazing feedback from the Education and Learning Team​ at Keep Scotland Beautiful – Eco-Schools Scotland​ which you can read below.

Below are some of the comments from our Interim Eco Assessment Report.

Congratulations on successfully renewing your Eco-Schools Green Flag Award! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your application and am very excited about the work being done at Hillington Primary School. I was very encouraged to read about the success you’ve had and how you’ve gotten the whole school involved in the effort. I was also very impressed by the partnerships you developed throughout the duration of your eco work with Community Safety Glasgow, Malawi Leaders of Learning, a community counsellor, Mary’s Meals Backpack Project and the local church. It is very encouraging to read about every class having the opportunity to plant seeds in the school’s Bumble Bee Garden. A job well done receiving an award from the Community Safety Team for the work the school does to keep the school and local community clean, safe and sustainable! The school’s regular rag bag collections and the uniform bank seem to be very successful and it was great to read that the bank is being utilised by asylum seeking and refugee families. The Eco-Committee and staff appear to be doing a fantastic job keeping the school and wider community informed of the eco work being done via Twitter, posters, school website/blog and the Parent Council Facebook page.
