At Hillington Primary School we believe that our pupils benefit most from their learning experiences when we work in partnership with parents and carers. Children have two main educators in their lives, their parents and their teachers. The impact of learning is greatest when we work together with shared aims. We want to make our school a welcoming place for parents with an ethos based on mutual trust and respect.
We offer a variety of parental engagement and family learning opportunities at Hillington Primary that can vary from year to year. These include internet safety and anti-bullying workshops, literacy and numeracy workshops, class assemblies and open days, information evenings and child led learning events.
We take into consideration all families within our school community and as such we offer evening opportunties for parents/carers who work during the day whenever we can and can organise translators for parents who dont speak English as their first language.
We have always offered opportunities for parents during school and after school, where possible. Attendance at these sessions varies. We will comtinue to offer evening opportunities for parents wherever possible and aim to give parents as much notice as we can about these events via the school newsletter, text and social media.
We aim to work as a school community to ensure the best possible teaching and learning experiences for all of our pupil. If you have any ideas or suggestions on how we can further develop parental engagement and family learning opportunities at Hillington Primary please contact the school directly or come along to one of our Parent Council meetings highlighted in our newsletters.
