Pupil Zone

The pupils at Highpark Primary and LCR enjoy a rich and varied curriculum, supported by many exciting learning opportunities within our local and wider communities.

We strive to create an inclusive, friendly, and kind partnerships between pupils, one which is built upon Positive and Restorative Relationships.

At Highpark, each child is assigned a House Group, where they can earn points over the course of week to contribute to a House Reward at the end of each term. House Groups are essential, they create community spirit and give the children an opportunity to contribute to the vision and values set out by all stakeholders of the life and ethos of Highpark Primary.

The House System creates a visible and consistent approach to promoting positive behaviour,
whilst developing a shared understanding of positive behaviour will all pupils.

House Groups

Each House Group is represented by a House Captain from Primary 7 and a Vice-Captain from Primary 6. These roles are democratically chosen each school year through a whole school Election processes.

House points are awarded to pupils who demonstrate skills, knowledge, and understanding of the core principles of the Four Capacities, School Values, and the pupil contract outlined in classroom behaviour management strategies.

1 House Point – Pupils demonstrate consistently good behaviour linked to their co-created Classroom Charter; this is the expectation for all pupils.

5 House Points – Linked to the demonstration of one of the school values; Inclusion, Kindness, Fairness, Respect, Honesty, and Achievement.

10 House Points – Exceptional effort in social, emotional and/ or academic aspects of school life, whilst also recognising wider achievement.

At the end of each term, the winning House will receive a Reward Trip – this will be approved by a member of SMT closer to the end of each term.
