Digital Learning

Dear Parents and Carers,

The following information is designed to help support you and child(ren) during the closure of schools in Term 3 of 2020/ 2021.

Primary 1 – 6

  • Seesaw will be the primary mode of communication and for all learning and teaching experiences.
  • Class teachers will be uploading learning experiences daily, focusing on Literacy and English, Numeracy and Mathematics, Interdisciplinary Learning (Topic), and Health and Wellbeing.
  • Feedback will be provided on work completed, either in written format or voice recordings.
  • Class teachers will also be providing pre-recorded short videos to all pupils within the class, this is an important part in ensuring pupils are connected with on a daily basis.
  • New concepts, as well as consolidation of prior learning, will be addressed throughout this period.

Primary 7

  • Microsoft Teams and Seesaw will be the primary mode of communication and for all learning and teaching experiences.
  • Class teachers will be uploading learning experiences daily, focusing on Literacy and English, Numeracy and Mathematics, Interdisciplinary Learning (Topic), and Health and Wellbeing.
  • Feedback will be provided on work completed, either in written or voice recordings.
  • New concepts, as well as consolidation of prior learning, will be addressed throughout this period.

Additional Support for Primary 7

  • Class teachers will be organising Microsoft Teams meetings with groups of pupils throughout the week. This will take the format of a live face-to-face virtual meeting, through the Microsoft Teams application. More information on these meetings will be posted on Microsoft Teams by Primary 7 class teachers.
  • Further details of Microsoft Teams log-in credentials will be posted for each child on Seesaw over the next few days.
  • Pupils and Families also be issued with an Acceptable Digital Use Contract – it is vital that parents and carers read and return receipt, this will be delivered via Seesaw.
