LGBT Schools Charter

Along with five other primary schools across the city, Glasgow City Council gave us funding to undertake the LGBT Schools Charter.

The programme has been developed to support schools to undertake training and to review policies, practice and resources. This will ensure that we are meeting legislative needs and are being as inclusive as possible.

In June 2021 we were given Bronze status.

The best bit…? We did not really have to do anything to achieve this! Our existing values, vision, ethos and policies already make a clear statement that equality and diversity are at the heart of everything we do.

We were highly praised for our inclusive and welcoming learning environment. This sentiment was echoed in a recent Family Survey, where the importance of work around Equalities was rated highly.

What the charter is about:

  • Celebrating diversity
  • Inclusivity
  • Challenging stereotypes
  • Awareness raising
  • Developing policies
  • Challenging discrimination
