Let the school know if you do not receive a letter by the end of October. Details about placing requests can be found on the Glasgow City Council website.

Please get in touch if you need any help or advice about this.

Mrs Kemp is retiring!

Dear all,

Mrs Kemp, one of our great support for learning workers and our First Aider, is retiring on Friday. I hope you will join me in wishing her a very long and happy retirement. We will miss her very much but we hope she will visit often. Children will have the chance to say goodbye to her tomorrow.

Home School Links

Due to the current COVID- 19 situation, we are having to change the way we would like to hold the first Parents’ Night this session. Although we are unable to facilitate face to face contact with your child’s teacher, we hope that you have found the Seasaw messaging facility helpful for contact.

As an alternative to a Parents’ Night appointment, you will receive a report on your child’s progress so far.

We would also like to offer you the chance to ask any questions you may have in regards to your child’s learning. If you have any questions, please complete the form below and your question will be answered.

Scottish Weather⛈🌥☀️⛄️

The Scottish Government have instructed schools to have children out in all weather during the pandemic to assist in reducing the spread of the virus, provided it is safe to do so.

In Cranhill Primary, we have always embraced the Scottish weather and we go outside come rain or shine. This is something the children choose to do. We are also lucky that we have a large shelter area so children can choose to stay dry if they prefer.

As the weather is changing, please can you send your children to school with a jumper/cardigan and a jacket and, where possible, wellies, as this will really help to keep them comfortable throughout the day. Please get in touch if you are short of any of these items as we have a huge stack of lost property and we also have some jackets we can give out.

Children will only be kept inside in dangerous conditions such as high winds🌪 or thunder and lightning. ⛈

Thank you for your understanding and help with this.

Lost Property

Hi everyone,

We need your help! We’re having lots of problems with children losing jumpers and jackets.

Please can you make sure your child’s name is on all their jumpers and jackets and even on their shoes! This makes it so much easier for staff to reunite children with their lost items.

We are also trying to teach children how important it is to take responsibility for their own things since there are 135 children in the school and staff are struggling to make sure every single one has all of their things at the end of the day. Please can you help us to share that message and speak with your children about looking after their own things, especially since you have to spend your hard earned cash on replacements!

We appreciate your help, thank you so much!

Response to the increase in cases of Covid-19 in Glasgow

Hi everyone,

As a result of the new restrictions in place in Glasgow this week, we are reviewing our risk assessment.

We propose that we stagger the start and finish times to reduce the number of adults at the gates, especially at 3pm.

The new times are:

P1 and P2/1 : 8.45am – 2.45pm

P3/2 and P5/4 : 9.00am – 3.00pm

P6/5 and P7 : 9.15am – 3.15pm

If you have more than one child then bring all of your children at the time of your youngest child’s class. Please phone the school if this is not clear 0141 774 2821. This will be in place for two weeks and then we will review again.

Also, please remember to physically distance/wear a face covering at the gates when dropping off and picking up children. Children should not attend school if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 – a high temperature, a persistent cough, loss of sense of taste or smell.
