Micro-Tyco is a month long event that runs in Bellahouston Academy that enables participants to practice and learn fundamental business principles in a safe, ‘micro’ environment.
In November 2014, teams in Bellahouston Academy raised more than £1000 for this great cause. We are running this again in November 2015 and hoping to continue this success.
Teams have one month to turn £1 seed capital into as much money as possible. There is only one rule: transactions must be legal. Micro-Tyco unleashes participants’ latent talents, fostering essential entrepreneurial thinking, resourcefulness and team work. Over the last four years, over 26 ,000 Micro-Tyco teams from Schools to Businesses have been inspired to learn the latest entrepreneurial thinking.
Participants receive world class business training from the Micro-Tyco Mentors (including Lord Digby Jones and Sir Tom Hunter) via video and interact with other teams via the exclusive Micro-Tyco social network.
All money created by the Micro-Tycos is invested by WildHearts in micro-loans for poor entrepreneurs in the developing world. Participants ‘become an entrepreneur to fund an entrepreneur’. By associating business excellence with economic justice, Micro-Tyco inspires the Leaders Our World Deserves. The results speak for themselves; Micro-Tyco is already compulsory graduate training for multi-nationals such as Wood Group and RBS and is used by Deloitte as a talent identification strategy in UK universities.
Micro-Tyco inspires our companies to excel and our children to believe, creates compassionate global citizens and will inspire the leaders our world deserves.
