This week Primary 4/3 have been very busy celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. On Wednesday we were very lucky to have a visit from two Zoologists. They explained to us how they learn about the behaviours and care of different animals, even bringing a few along! We met two corn snakes who were brother and sister, and they even let us hold them! We had a fantastic time and
We have be enjoying science week. We did an experiment with cola and milk. We also learned about a scientist who studied chimpanzees. In addition we had visitors to our class. Mrs Stuart’s sister told us about how diseases can spread and how scientist have stopped some diseases from spreading. Sean came into tell us about ships and their engines.

Here are a selection of some of the wonderful and exciting things P7 got up to during their week away. The children worked very hard creating a VLOG (which stands for Video Blog) over the course of their stay. We hope to share this with everyone very soon!
Primary four have been working so hard during maths to help develop their skills of money management. They are all able to use open number lines to add and subtract money totals and can work out tricky problem solving questions! The class have shown great enthusiasm using concrete materials to help them answer questions and can now use coins in ‘real life scenarios.’ Why not have a go at asking

We had fun performing and received a lot of positive feedback from other classes which made us very happy. As part of our Scotland topic we were learning about famous Scottish inventors. We explored the inventions of Alexander Graham Bell who created the telephone. For homework, we decided to make inventions which would help make our lives in school easier. We chose to say, make, do or write. We all came up with lots of amazing inventions and shared them with the whole school through a display
