Waste Minimisation
The Eco Heroes had a meeting with Tom Armstrong to discuss the topic of reducing food waste in our school. We recognise that there is a problem as a lot of food is being put in the bin instead of being eaten.
The Eco Heroes worked together to think of possible solutions to this problem. Here are some of the ideas that they came up with:
- Every class to have access to a menu to allow pupils to make informed choices.
- Conduct a food survey with every class to investigate favourite/least favourite dishes.
- Eco Heroes to reward pupils who eat their lunch with a house token.
The Eco Heroes are looking forward to introducing some of their new ideas and hope that they have an impact and allow us to see a reduction in the amount of food being wasted. Stay tuned for future updates!
