Riddles and place value

Good morning❤️

You  guys are amazing at answering riddles, so today I thought it would post three tricky riddles for you to try. Again leave your answers in the comments

1) What answer can you never answer yes ?

2) What has a neck but no head?

3) What has to be broken before you can use it?

Place value

I thought I would post some worksheets about place value, sometimes we find this tricky as we can say a number but find it difficult to read the number aloud.  The worksheets will ask you to read , write, order and compare numbers up to 10,000,000. Have a go and let me know how you get on☺️

Last thing, I was thinking we could have a weekly photo blog.  If everyone emailed me a picture of something they have done over the week, then on a Friday I could post everyone’s pictures onto the blog. This means you guys could see what your friends have been up to. This is only an idea, let me know if it is something you would like to do☺️

missing you all!!!!

Fun riddles , problem solving and guided reading 📝📚

Good morning, wow what another beautiful day outside🌞 why not go a walk with the family since it is so lovely or play outside with your siblings.

Today I thought I would post another two riddles, since you guys were amazing at answering yesterday’s. So here it goes….

1) I’m tall when I’m young and I’m short when I’m old. What am ?

2) What has a face and two hands but no arms or legs?

Leave your answers in the comments below☺

I also thought I would post a little maths problem solving for you to try. Using the jotters you have at home, see if you can answer this question.

I have also added a guided reading  about Margret Thatcher. We talked a little about her in class, when discussing gender related jobs. Have a go reading the passage and answering the questions in your jotter.

Goooooood morning 🌞🌞🌞🌞

I hope you all had a lovely relaxing weekend. I thought today i would post some riddles for you to solve. We use to do this in class so I thought it is something we could continue. I will post two riddles. Leave your answers in the comment box.

  1.  What is full of holes but still holds water?
  2. What is always in front of you but can’t be seen?

I have also posted some percentage question for you to try. Remember to turn the percentage into a fraction first( put it over 100 and simplify)  to help solve the problem.

Good morning☺️

I know being off school can be hard as you might not have a structure to your day, so I thought I would post this list of free resources. One of my favourite resources is story time with David Williams. Why not use this time to sit down with the family or your siblings and relax.

missing you all💫💫

The sleeping sword

Good morning P7🌞

I hope you are all safe and well. During this time off you should do things that interest you, like sing, dance, play with your family. For me  I love to exercise so I have completed some home workouts as well as going walks.

It is another gorgeous day so why not go a walk with a family member? If not, there are loads of fun exercise  videos on YouTube that you could try! Additionally, playing board games with your family is a great way to involve everyone. UNO was a popular game that loads of you played in Lockerbie, has anybody played it in the house recently? Leave a comment and let me know what you have been getting up to.

One last thing , Miss Brightman has kindly recorded the final chapters of The Sleeping Sword.  why not get comfy with your siblings and listen to how the story ends. Click on the link attached to this post to see how the story ends☺️    https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=9AtN9CiLk3U

P7⭐️✨

Good afternoon p7!

I hope you are all well rested after our week of fun!!!!
Below are some very useful links for you to take part while you are not in school.

Unfortunately I never got the chance to see all of you before school finished on Friday, so I thought we could communicate with each other through the blog.

If you see this, can you tell your friends and ask them to comment too so that we can all stay in contact with each other☺️

Missing you all

Show prep and international woman’s day🧕🏽👩🏽‍🎓👩🏽‍🏭👩🏽‍💻👩🏾‍🚒👩🏽‍🎨👸🏾

This weeks blog was write by Khadija  and Tahira
On Monday we went to the Michelle library to meet Ross Mackenzie for his new book Evernight. We asked him questions about how he got interested in being an author, and who inspired him to write Evernight. We discovered that he was inspired by the Witches by Roald Dahl

On Tuesday some of us done our SNSA tests with miss Brightman. Later we started our drama about Harriet Tubman. We were painting boxes and we were cutting leaves to make a tree we also made a sight that said ‘Pennsylvania state border’ which was so fun. Miss O’Donnell challenged the boys to construct trees using cardboard.

Wednesday we worked on our raps with mr McCormack, he chose Zayd, Khadija, lulu, Azeem and Hamza’s rap. We included some instruments such as the drums, the boom whackers and the tamberins.

Thursday: Thursday was world book day, we had free flow like usual but it was involved in reading. Later we got our t-shirts for world book day. On Friday we helped make the props for our show as well as celebrate international woman’s day.

Pancakes, songs and much much more,🥞🍡🍩

This week was a musical week, as we focused a lot on our topic (enslavement) as well as having fun making pancakes.

This  week in maths we worked in teams to problem solve. This was difficult and very challenging but we really enjoyed it. The problems involved us applying our knowledge of fraction. This activity was fun as we worked with people that we usually don’t work with.  Additionally, through stem we used our engineering brains and helped to build cars. This was also very challenging but really fun!

In literacy we focused on slavery. Through guided reading we looked at the songs that enslaved people sang as say of dealing with what they were going through. We also looked at the history of Samba music and how that too gave enslaved people hope.

Finally this week we celebrated shove Tuesday. We made pancakes and topped them with fruit and cream. They were delicious!!!
