HOME LEARNING-times tables

Dear parents/ carers,

Primary 4 are learning to use a number of strategies this term to help with their work on multiplying 2 digit numbers by single digit numbers, such as using arrays and partitioning.  In order to use these strategies, it is essential that pupils have a thorough knowledge of the times tables. The children should be learning these at home at least twice a week. They were given a times tables sheet in August to use for this purpose.

The tables we are concentrating on at the moment are the 6, 7, 8 and 9 times tables. Please ensure that they are chanting these at home regularly. You could help by asking them the answers to these sums. They will have another test next week on these tables. Thank you.
