Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all still having a fantastic time at home and out in your gardens. Remember our daily exercise is really important, so try to get outside for a walk around the park. While you are in the park try and see if you can spot butterflies or any other creatures!
Literacy
Watch the video of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and see if you can answer some of these questions:
Questions
- On Monday, the caterpillar ate 1 apple. On Tuesday, the caterpillar ate 2 pears. On Wednesday, he ate 3 plums. On Thursday, he had 4 strawberries. On Friday, he ate 5 oranges. How many pieces of fruit did he eat altogether over the five days? Try and count it out with cubes counters or Lego pieces to help you.
- On Saturday, the caterpillar had a sore tummy. Why do you think this was?
- What happened to the caterpillar’s body on Sunday? How did he change in shape and size?
- What was the name given to the caterpillar’s house that he built around himself?
- How long did the caterpillar spend inside the cocoon?
- How did the caterpillar manage to get out of the cocoon?
Topic
This week we are looking at the life cycle of a butterfly!
Have you noticed any butterflies outside recently? Watch this clip of how a butterfly transforms from a caterpillar to a butterfly!
You can attempt the butterfly life cycle worksheet in your learning pack.
I hope you enjoyed part 1 of the Twits. Thank you to Miss Graham for recording these. Here is part 2 for you:
Have a lovely day!
