Home School Day 24

Good morning Class 2 💛 Last day of the school week already, wow!

A craft project as the blog task for today, in keeping with our elephant theme from Tuesday 🐘

Remember this week at the virtual assembly the focus was outdoor learning so try to get outside today and enjoy some sunshine while getting your exercise if you can.

As always, looking forward to seeing your pictures of your learning and what you get up to today 🙂

Our lovely class was absolutely fine, just very quiet without you all.

Some of you with 10 points chose your prizes from the box and I’ll do the same again next week to make sure your choice is put to one side ready to go home with your next pack of work 🙂

Exciting  Wizarding World news

A few weeks ago I posted a link to Wizarding World, the new Harry Potter at home website. ⚡

Exciting news yesterday that lots of Wizarding World stars are going to be reading the first book ‘The Philosophers Stone’, starting with Daniel Radcliffe reading Chapter 1.

I absolutely loved listening to this last night, all cosy in my blanket, so I wanted to share it with you all in case you want to snuggle down and enjoy listening to it too! There are lots of games and quizzes you can play as well  🙂

Elephants 🐘

Well done to those of you who took part in the elephant research task today.

Subhan noted down some great information from the research he did today and earned himself a point, well done!

I sent this work on to Miss Brooks who was so impressed she is going to include it in the work she uploads to Eco Schools Scotland (the people who give the schools our green flags!)  She said to say a big well done 🙂

Well done also to Kit who read about elephants as part of his learning today.

 Your work

Ivo got some lovely new pyjamas and helped his mum change his bed sheets, such an important job, well done!

Bilal sent this photo of himself staying safe wearing a mask

Aiyub was working on some 6 digit addition from his old work pack and doing some comprehension corrections in his phonics booklet today

Huzaifa made this fantastic video all about staying safe during the Coronavirus  🌟 He worked on this independently, writing the script for his video by himself and being so confident delivering his presentation while his brother filmed him – I am so proud Huzaifa, well done again!

Hector made this lovely drawing today – so many great artists in class 2! 🧑‍🎨

Kit completed his new reading book today and also completed this weeks new Sumdog challenge, getting 99% accuracy!

Subhan was reading his Bug Club book outside and completed all the quizzes too, as well as practising handwriting for the letter o and O

Very impressive work as always Class 2, you’re doing such amazing things, well done! Already looking forward to what you get up to tomorrow. Have a lovely evening 🙂

Home School Day 22

Good morning Class 2 💛

Here is your morning video –

Here is the link to WWF website for you to research a bit more about elephants – https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/elephant

You can choose what activity you’d like to do – write down 3 new facts you learned about elephants, design and make a poster about why elephants are so important and need protecting or create a video explaining what you’ve learned about elephants or why they need our help.

Looking forward to seeing your elephant themed work later today 🐘

A very exciting video message arrived last night, from a good friend of Class 2 🙂

Subhan also did questions for both and wrote them all out in his jotter to practice his writing, well done!

Your work

Hector went for a walk yesterday and pointed out some things he likes along the way and today was busy with lots of science. He watched a BBC Bitesize lesson on solids, liquids and gasses (some of you have learned about this with Miss Brooks in Class 2 before) and did some experiments with this changing water to steam and back to water through condensation and then melted a metal called gallium and had fun playing with it!

Ivo completed a dog colouring sheet and a dot to dot practicing his alphabet

Aiyub completed his bug club book online and did the quizzes (despite having some trouble logging on, but we sorted that over the phone!) and did some of his comprehension booklet

Kit worked on some of his reading comprehension booklet, did some more training on Sumdog and went for a walk in the park and chatted about James Bond with his dad 🙂
