Communication

Groupcall

This is a system we use to contact parents directly by text or email. We most commonly use email as it is free – there is a charge to the school for texts. The system pulls through the email address and mobile phone number of the parent you named first on your child’s data capture form and it is that parent who will receive or messages. In exceptional circumstance, where parents live apart and can’t share messages, we can add a second parent manually but there is a workload to doing this and where parents are part of the same family and can forward messages on, we ask that they do so. If you would like to change the parent who is first named, please contact the school office to arrange to do so.

We recognise that everyone is busy and try to keep the volume of emails to a minimum by collating information into a weekly update link where ever possible. Where information needs to be sent quickly or where it might be helpful to have information in a separate email with the detail in the subject line we will send it outwith the weekly update but we try to make this the exception rather than the rule.

School Website

This website is used as a communication tool. Information for parents is posted here and the link is shared with parents via groupcall so that they are prompted to access it. The site is public and all information posted on the site is accessible at any time to existing parents but also to the wider community, our stakeholders and prospective parents.

Contacting School

Parents can contact their child’s teacher by calling the school office or emailing the enquiries account. Any parent is welcome to contact Mrs Jess (Headteacher) at any time – lucy.jess@fife.gov.uk. Please don’t try to email your child’s teacher or key worker directly (or contact them through Seesaw) as they might not check their account daily and your message could be missed. It can also lead to a data breach as not every staff members email address is made of of the name you know them by – if you make an assumption about a staff member’s email address your message can go to a different member of Fife Council staff with the same name. For this reason we ask that you only use lucy.jess@fife.gov.uk or wormitps.enquiries@fife.gov.uk. This exception to this is if Mr Rose or Mrs Purves contact you directly and you reply to their email.

Out of Hours Communication

We will tend to only send emails and/or texts during the working day. The exception to this is if or when we have information that you need to know quickly e.g. a last minute change of plan or school closure. School emails are usually only checked during the working day and if you do email us in on evening or over a weekend or holiday,  it will usually be the case that you will not receive a reply until your email is picked up during the working day.
