St. Leonard’s Primary School and Nursery recognize the need to reduce the Cost of the School Day for all of our young people, particularly those already experiencing poverty.  We examine the school day in the following areas;

Uniform – available to anyone who needs it, lost property is recycled

Travel – there is no cost to transport involving learners representing the school/nursery

Curriculum – there is no cost to any curricular activities or homework

Community – we limit the number of charitable events we engage in, donation only School trips – cost is limited to less than £10, families given 6 weeks’ notice, we apply annually for funding to subsidize P7 residential trip

Eating – we provide free breakfast for those in need

Extra-Curricular Clubs – there is no cost to any extra-curricular clubs
