We have had several visitors to our class this week, including families who were able to join in with the learning on Wednesday morning. Thank you for coming.

Today, we enjoyed another Science workshop, this time with Alfie’s mum who teaches at Dundee and Angus College. We explored what bacteria look like and tested to see what was on our hands. We also used microscopes and created our own yeast slides. It was a very interesting morning.

We also had visitors from Barnardo’s charity today to explore different substances, including legal and illegal, to develop our understanding.

On Tuesday, we had visitors from Madras; Mr Currie (HT) and Mr Wishart (DHT).  They answered all of our questions related to transition to High School. Thank you to them for visiting.

This week, we have been developing our skills in script writing and we have linked our scripts to WW2. We have been focusing on using all of the correct features in a script and have been peer assessing with our friends to check. In our topic work, we have been carrying out some personal research to find out about the impact of WW2 in different countries. We will share our findings next week to others.

In Numeracy, we have been exploring time further, including timetables and problems involving speed, distance and time calculations.

We have been developing our skills in French in listening to information and recording our findings relating to weather and countries.

We enjoyed working with our buddies as we continue our progress with the John Muir Award. We looked to conserve our school playground by tidying and collecting litter that may cause harm to living things.

Today was our final Skills Academy session for this block of learning and have all enjoyed developing our skills in a specialist area and working with others from across the school.
