P3/4 Friday 12th May 2023

This week we have been learning how to write a discursive piece of writing. You need to write about both sides of an argument and then give your opinion. We learnt about the advantages and disadvantages of wind farms. We used sentence starters like ‘Firstly’ and ‘On the other hand’. We used connectives like because and so to give more details.

In PE, we continued to practise our throwing skills and this week learnt how to hold and throw a discus. It was quite tricky but we all managed well.

In Maths, we looked at the properties of 3D shapes. We counted the faces, edges and vertices of different 3D shapes.

In Numeracy, we were comparing fractions using greater than, less than and equals signs.

We have loved starting out sewing projects. So far, groups have made 2 pairs of shorts, 2 dresses, a hand bag and a sequin top! Thank you again to our parent helpers.

As part of out Get Active learning we have been learning the ‘Sid Shuffle’ together. It feels really good to learn a new skill and it has made us smile and laugh a lot!
