———————————————————————————————————

Welcome to Primary 7b Class Page, our teacher is Mrs Wilson and Mrs Dargie we have 31 pupils in our class. Our PE day is Thursday, please ensure appropriate outdoor clothing is brought and worn on PE days. Earrings should be taped up, hair tied back and no football colours or crop tops should be worn.

Our class novel this term is The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne to link in with our World War II Topic. Each morning children will enjoy ERIC (Everyone Reading In Class) time during register and lunches.

Please can lunches be updated on iPayimpact the night before.

Outdoor Learning in Term 1, on a Tuesday we will go a walk to the local woods in Calaiswood, children should bring appropriate outdoor clothing, including a waterproof jacket, hoody/jumper,  old trousers/leggings (long trousers please -no shorts (ticks)), if they have walking boots, wellies or old shoes that would be great. “No such thing as bad weather just bad clothing!”

2025 – Please continue to focus on your MULTIPLICATION TABLES, even if your child knows all 12 what the high school would like us to work on is quicker recall. at home could children download a free app on their device or go onto www.topmarks.co.uk and play Hit the Button.

Focus on the table they are least confident with and try and beat their own score! If they did 5 minutes a day on their tables that would be fantastic.

HOMEWORK – Reading homework, Reciprocal Reading Task plus set pages. lunes (Monday), martes (Tuesday), miercoles (Wednesday), jueves (Thursday) – reading will be issued on the day of the week and is due that day the following week.  Please note – ALL READING BOOKS SHOULD BE IN THE CHILD/REN’s BAGS EVERYDAY as we will also use these in class for various literacy tasks. It is their responsibility to make sure they have them each day.

OCTOBER HOLIDAY FUN – PARS FOUNDATION HALLOWEEN 4 DAY CAMP DETAILS BELOW

DUNFERMLINE COLLECT YOUR FREE PAST-PORT from any of our Heritage Quarter in Dunfermline:

  • Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum
  • Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries
  • Dunfermline Abbey and Palace
  • Abbey Church of Dunfermline

Every Spring, Summer, and Autumn School holiday these four venues work together to offer free Past-Port Activities to families. This teamwork increases the engagement of families from both near to and far from the Dunfermline Heritage Quarter allowing them to engage with, discover, enjoy, and increase their knowledge of our wonderful Dunfermline heritage.

The Past-Port theme for this Autumn Holiday is ‘Story Explorers’. Young visitors can explore four venues across the city, each offering a creative story-themed activity:

  • Dunfermline Abbey: Create Books of Wisdom and colourful illuminated manuscripts.
  • Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries: Design a book cover, follow the Character Trail, or create your own title for a story.
  • The Palace and Nave: Write your own spooky story with inspiration from King James VI’s book on Demonology.
  • Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum: Craft a personalised Ex-Libris (bookplate), read a book in a cozy corner, or write your own Carnegie Story.

Attached is a poster and I would greatly appreciate it if you could share this info and the poster with your parent group. These are free activities, and a lot of joy goes into putting them together for the children of Fife. We hope they will come and enjoy being a Heritage Quarter Explorer for the day, or two or three.

Thank you kindly for your time. Have a wonderful day.
