P7a Homework
Reading: This term our reading will be mostly based around our novel study. Together we will be reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. While all of our learning activities and most of our reading will take place in class, some reading may need to be completed at home. When this happens, it will be your responsibility to make note of the pages required for home reading. Please ensure you have your book with you in school each day.
Numeracy: We are currently focussing on division methods in numeracy. As you know, a strong recall of multiplication/division facts will help you to succeed as we work though this topic. Please find some time at home to improve your knowledge and recall of MULTIPLICATION TABLES. Even if your know all 12, we can still work on quicker recall. In class we will be using a range of activities to help with this, at home you could continue these activities, invent your own multiplication/division games or (with permission from your parents) download a free app on your device or go onto www.topmarks.co.uk and play Hit the Button. Focus on the table you are least confident with and try to beat your own score! Even 5 minutes a day will really help.
Scottish Poetry Challenge Homework: For Tuesday 4th February 2025
For our Scottish Poetry Challenge, you must learn a poem written by Robert Burns or an extract of one of his poems.
We would like you to learn your poem at home for homework and be able to recite it on Tuesday 4th February 2025.
Suggestions for learning:
- ‘Chunk it down’ – learn 1 verse at a time
