P.7a

Welcome to Primary 7a Class Page, our teacher is Miss Collins and Mrs Dargie we have 29 pupils in our class. Our PE day is Thursday, please ensure appropriate outdoor clothing is brought and worn on PE days. Earrings should be taped up, hair tied back and no football colours or crop tops should be worn.

Our class novel this Term is The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne to link in with our World War II Topic. Each morning children will enjoy ERIC (Everyone Reading In Class) time during register and lunches. Please can lunches be updated on iPayimpact the night before.

2025 – Please continue to focus on your MULTIPLICATION TABLES, even if your child knows all 12 what the high school would like us to work on is quicker recall. at home could children download a free app on their device or go onto www.topmarks.co.uk and play Hit the Button.

Focus on the table they are least confident with and try and beat their own score! If they did 5 minutes a day on their tables that would be fantastic.

HOUSE CAPTAIN INFORMATION

House Captain Elections 2025

Any P7 pupils wishing to put themselves forward for House Captain and Vice-Captain positions must prepare a speech to be delivered to all the members of their house on Wednesday 10th September 2025. You should do this at home.

All pupils who wish to nominate themselves must let their class teacher know by Monday 1st September 2025 so that ballot slips can be printed.

Each candidate will have a maximum of two minutes to deliver their speech. No PowerPoints or other digital presentations are to be used. Candidates may use cue cards or notes to aid them.

What to put in your speech?

When writing your speech, you could consider the following:

  • What makes you interesting?
  • Do you work well with others? (give an example)
  • Why would you make a good house captain?
  • Have you ever had to overcome any challenges? (give an example)
  • In what ways are you a good role model?
  • What ideas could you bring to your house to make it great?
  • Is there any other information you would like to share?

How to deliver your speech:

  • Rehearse your speech at home.
  • Try to keep to time.
  • Speak slowly and clearly.
  • Consider your body language and try to make eye contact with your audience.
  • You will have a microphone, but you will still need to be loud enough for it to pick up your voice.

Good luck with your preparations.
