Welcome to this weeks Rector’s log. I hope you and your family are doing well.
The week that’s been…
Last Friday, our S6 leavers held their Prom at the Dean Park Hotel. A fantastic night was had by all and, as ever, our young people were a massive credit to our school and community! Well done to the Prom committee, teachers and staff who supported and of course the young people. We wish you well for the future and hope you keep in touch and share all the amazing things you do.
This week has been busy in school with a range of events taking place, and learning continuing before the summer break. With 1 week left to go, lots of time is spent ensuring that young people maximise their learning for now and the future.
In supported learning, Ms Black has given the following update:
‘A busy week of out of school learning and experiences for us. SLD3 have been to Nourish and doing some independent skills development down the High Street, SLD5 have been to visit and learn about the care of Alpacas and goats…please check out our social media for photos! We have also had a team of runners attend the Fife Cross Country Championships; they have been training all term which is an achievement in itself, and their hard work paid off when they came home with 100% medal success! Three golds, one silver and one bronze! We are super proud of their hard work. Again, photos to follow. This afternoon saw the last of our P7 transition visits for those joining Supported Learning. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them all over the last term and beyond, it is lovely to see their confidence in the department and joining in shared learning with the rest of the young people. ‘
As ever, please click on our blog to keep up to date with all the latest goings on and celebrate the success of our young people too.
The week ahead…
Next week is the last week of this session. School closes on Friday 28th June 2024 at 3.15pm for all young people.
This is the last Rector’s log of the session. I will send all parents / carers an End of Term letter next Friday, including our draft School Improvement Plan, Standards and Quality Report and Pupil Equity Fund plan for your consideration and feedback.
I wish all our community a happy, safe and enjoyable summer break when it comes.
Best wishes,
Chris McKay
