Careers Fair
Our recent meta-skills themed Careers Fair held on the 28th of April, has been a fantastic success and a real highlight for P7. This event has provided pupils with valuable experience towards their Fife Diploma of Achievement, allowing them to develop and demonstrate a wide range of skills in a real-life context. Pupils worked incredibly hard to plan, organise, and host the event, taking on important roles within teams such as Managers, Admin and Marketing, Design and Advertising, Catering, and Runners and Organisers. We were delighted to welcome a variety of local businesses and organisations from a wide range of sectors, and our pupils represented Caskieberran with pride throughout. The fair was a highly successful event, with pupils across the school engaging enthusiastically with our guests, as well as enjoying the competitions and interactive experiences that had been carefully planned.
WW2
Looking ahead, pupils will be exploring a World War II focus, with a particular emphasis on life on the home front. Through this topic, they will learn about what daily life was like during the war, including rationing, evacuation, air raids, and the important roles played by civilians. Pupils will have the opportunity to engage in a range of interactive and creative activities, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of this significant period in history while building skills in research, discussion, and critical thinking.
Leavers Show
In addition, pupils will begin preparations for our P7 Leavers Show. This will be a wonderful opportunity for them to collaborate, share ideas, and use their creativity to produce a memorable performance that celebrates their time at primary school. Pupils will take on a range of responsibilities, working together to develop the script, music, staging, and overall production. This process will allow them to further build confidence, teamwork, and creative skills as they work towards putting on a fantastic show to mark the end of their P7 journey.
Transition
Later in the term, pupils will also take part in transition days at Glenrothes High School and Glenwood High School. These experiences will play an important role in supporting pupils as they prepare for the significant change ahead. They will have the opportunity to explore their new school environments, meet staff, and begin building relationships with peers from across the cluster. By experiencing aspects of the high school timetable and routines, pupils will feel more confident and prepared as they take this exciting next step in their education.
FDA
Finally, we are looking forward to the Fife Diploma of Achievement presentation on the 19th of June. This special event will bring together staff, pupils, and parents to celebrate the achievements made across the four pillars throughout the session. It will be a wonderful opportunity to recognise the hard work, progress, and successes of our pupils, with certificates awarded to mark these accomplishments and celebrate all that has been achieved.
