Literacy

Within Literacy we have begun explanation writing where we share details about processes of events that occur. We will cover this for a period of time before moving onto information reports. We also have a literacy focus ongoing through IDL where we will be making stories for the nursery pupils which will be projected through the Sphero robots. This is a good way of enhancing our digital literacy skills and developing new computing science concepts of learning.

Numeracy and Maths

In Numeracy, we have begun looking at number word sequences – looking at a variety of sequences with and without decimals. We are also currently consolidating and extending learning around properties of shape. In the coming weeks we will look at the impact of maths in the world as a small research project, look at multiples and factors and then spend some more time consolidating previous learning.

Health and Wellbeing and P.E.

In Health and Wellbeing we are continuing RSHP learning for the next progression. We will also look at the human body and how food and nutrition supports our physical health. In P.E., we have begun consolidation of athletics and sprinting / running in the lead up to sports day where some of the class will help plan the day as part of the Sports Leaders programme. We have also continued looking at team games through passing, movement and communication.
