Room 6
Literacy
This term in literacy, we will focus on imaginative writing. Pupils will create their own characters and settings, using adjectives to add detail and bring their ideas to life. We will also practise using punctuation, including question marks and exclamation marks. In reading, we will continue revising our sounds while focusing on letter names and uppercase letters. Pupils will practise blending words using their phonics knowledge and work on key words to help build confidence and improve reading fluency.
Numeracy
This term in numeracy, we will be exploring symmetry, using mirrors to help us identify and create symmetrical patterns and shapes. We will also focus on fractions, learning how to share amounts fairly and understand equal parts. In addition, pupils will continue developing their number skills by practising skip counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s.
IDL
In IDL, we have just stated exploring our five senses and learning how they help us understand the world around us as the children were curious about how we smell things. We will then move on to learning about living things, including planting and growing, and exploring what animals need to survive.
